I only rolled my eyes, the poison would not take long now.
“Any last words?” I asked coldly still flipping the pages in my book.
“I…I..I am sorry.” She gurgled as she started to bob, her body giving up on her.
“I don’t care.” I smirked.
I closed my book and watched her sink to the bottom, wanting my face to be the last thing she saw. I felt a weight lift off me, a pressure I had felt since the day Jasper died. I had no say, no control, I couldn’t help him at all. Now I had.
When looking back on it I know it was more for me than him, but I do think I did Sunset Valley a favor. Bella was a plague and I cured the town of her torment.
“You must need a sense of humor to do what you do.” I smirked slightly still watching Bella with interest.
“You do. But revenge is always my favorite.” I could sense a smile on that shrouded face.
“Why is that?”
“I feed off the sorrow of death, and revenge is sweet.”
“So they say.” I laughed slightly.
“Yes they do, but for me it is true. For others, well it tends to be a cycle which means more for me.” His voice boomed a little at the end.
“Selfish much?” I frowned, I was not a fan of his use of the word cycle.
“We all are, its nature.”
I stood to face him.
“My pleasure, it wasn’t his time yet.”
I looked at him a confused.
“Without him you would never do what you needed to Princess, but trust me the battle is far from over. If anything it got bigger.”
“Wait what? How did you…” I stammered but he cut me off.
“Death remember?” He laughed pointing at himself. “You just need to take care of her, raise her right.”
My mind flashed to the image of me pregnant and the sisters on either side. What was I in for?
“You’re in for being a wonderful mother, nothing more is expected of you.” With that the Grimm pulled Bella’s screaming soul from her body.
I watched as he sent her soul into the ground, deep to a cage I did not want to know about.
He looked from me to death and then to the pool where Bella’s soul had come from. Death looked over to me and then moved to step forward. I placed my hand on his arm pulling him back.
“I got this one.” I smiled.
He nodded and dissolved into a black cloud then drifted away in the wind.
I smiled and nodded.
“What’s happening? Is Bella dead? Did you kill her?” He rapid fired the questions at me in a panic.
“Did you know she killed our son?” I listened to his mind, waiting for something.
“I had a suspicion, but I couldn’t prove it. It had to be her or my dad, part of me thinks they were in it together.” He looked down at his feet, he was telling the truth but I saw no mourning or feeling of loss where Jasper’s face was in his mind.
“And you stayed married to her? You built a life with the woman you thought killed your son?” I wasn’t angry at him, I was hurt and confused.
“I was scared of her, but I also loved her. Lux you need to understand, she has always been like family but I never loved her the way I love you.” He whined slightly.
He pulled me in for a kiss, and I let him. It had been so long since we had been together I wanted to feel it again.
“Morty, love, you need to take care of your children. Raise them right.” I smiled as we broke apart.
He only nodded, knowing I was saying goodbye.
“There are some things you should know Morty.” I smiled at his zoned out stare.
“Bella was abducted by aliens. There is no other possible explanation." Talk about your spur of the moment lie, but I continued. "You have not seen me since I left Sunset Valley but you heard I live in Bridgeport. Your son Jasper is alive and you will put him in your Will; getting an even split with your other two children. Raise them well Morty and never give up looking for Bella.” I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
Morty only nodded and then walked up to bed.
I zapped myself back to Bridgeport but not before sending Bella’s body ten feet underground on the moon. I figured I had awhile before anyone settled up there and dug deep enough to find her. I later heard that Morty did as I said, always remembering a flash of light and aliens.
As the years past, Jasper and Belisama moved their growing family to Moonlight falls getting their kids away from the craziness of the city. Morrigan and I remained in the city for some time. We watched as Jasper grew old and pasted, and our grandson started a family of his own. With the birth of our great granddaughter Bell, Belisama moved back to Bridgeport and in with her mother. They took the cure together and grew old, leaving the coven to find a new queen.
Princess,
We give her all our love and gifts.
Love,
The Twins
I could not help but laugh at their assumptions, but of course later I discovered I was pregnant with a little girl. She was beautiful, Katrine Stone Twygg. She would one day grow up to become the Wolf Princess, but that’s her story to tell.
